In this section, you’ll find some of my favorite materials that I suggest to my students (and some that I use to learn other languages.)
Some of these are free and others, you have to pay for.
On some of them, I left my affiliate link, which means you can learn and support my work at the same time! I hope they help!
I originally created this page with the intention of putting my videos on my website, but it was easier to list my playlists on YouTube! Those are very valuable to learners, especially if you want to focus on a topic. Don’t forget to look at the PDFs which are available!
YouGlish is a free website which searches all YouTube videos for many pronunciation examples! Just search for any word or expression and listen! It’s available in other languages and one of my favorite resources to use.
I created a Telegram group for everyone to join and practice! I don’t update it all of the time (I’m very busy with lessons and making videos) but it can be useful! And it’s free! Come join!
This is the link to the community section on my YouTube channel. There, I post quizzes and other materials a lot! You can interact with a lot of these quizzes, and I include explanations for each one.
This is the link for my channel membership on YouTube! Here I offer the same quizzes as in the community section. I give five (5!) more quiz questions per week, all about phrasal verbs! If you want to join, you also get unique emojis to use on my channel plus member badges!
I used italki for years to learn other languages, just like you! I also started teaching here. This is a teacher marketplace where you can find and select your own personal teacher to help you with anything! It’s great for conversation with native speakers. Use my link to save $$$!
Imagine Netflix combined with DuoLingo and you have LingoPie! I find this concept so interesting, and it really works! You can watch some very interesting shows in other languages with subtitles and activities, it’s an amazing concept! Try it today!
Preply is just like italki, it’s a teacher marketplace which you can use to find your own personal teacher. It’s great for practicing conversation and becoming more confident! There are so many teachers available to choose from! Use my link to save $$$!
This is a link to the 5000 most important words in English! The Oxford 3000 is a collection of the most important words to speak fluently, and the Oxford 5000 is a collection of the next 2000 words to help you become more advanced! This is one of my favorite resources for students.
In my opinion, this is the most important book to learn English grammar. I teach American English and this is about British English, but most of it is the same, and all of it is very important! It’s very famous, too. If you use my link to buy it, I will earn a little money.
Grammarly is a writing assistant designed to find your mistakes as you write. It’s an extension for your browser, and you can choose between a free and paid version.
This is my original YouTube channel about traveling. I don’t upload much these days, but I still move around a lot while working! I often work from different countries and learn languages while I do it.
Do you want to start your own YouTube channel? TubeBuddy helped me grow a lot and guided me when I didn’t know what to do. I still use some of their tools! I recommend using this extension if you want to be a YouTuber, too.
